Poppy cake with vanilla quark

Ingredients

springform pan(s) 🎂

220 g flour
190 g sugar
4 medium sized egg(s)
160 g butter
150 ml milk
250 g quark
200 g whipping cream
1 tea spoon(s) baking powder
2 pack(s) vanilla sugar
1 pinch(es) salt
1 pack(s) pudding powder, vanilla
120 g poppy seeds, ground

Preparation

  1. Prepare the form
    Take a springform pan and grease it with butter. Preheat the oven at 180 °C, circulating air.
  2. The poppy layer
    Boil 150 ml of milk. Mix 120 g of ground poppy seeds with 40 g of sugar and 1 pack(s) of vanilla sugar and add it to the milk while stirring. Boil for 5 minutes, while stirring. Take it off the stove. After 5 minutes, add 50 g of butter and 1 egg(s). Mix.
  3. The quark layer
    Mix 1 pack(s) of vanilla pudding powder with 50 g of sugar. Add 250 g of quark, 200 g of whipping cream and 2 egg(s). Mix.
  4. The base and crumbles
    Mix 220 g of flour, 110 g sugar, 1 tea spoon(s) of baking powder, 1 pack(s) of vanilla sugar, 1 pinch(es) of salt, 1 egg(s) and 110 g of butter until you have small crumbles.
  5. Putting it all together
    Press 3/4 of the crumble dough evenly into the pan to create the base. Add 2/3 of the poppy filling. Carefully add the quark layer. Sprinkle the remaining crumbles on top. Use a tea spoon to distribute spots of poppy filling across the surface. Put it into the oven and bake for 45 minutes. Afterwards, leave the cake in the hot oven for another 10 minutes. Then take the cake out of the oven and let it cool.

Quick prep

  1. Prepare the form
    Grease pan.
    Preheat oven at 180 °C, circulating air.
  2. The poppy layer
    Boil 150 ml milk.
    Mix 120 g poppy + 40 g sugar + 1 pack(s) vanilla sugar.
    Add the mix to the milk while stirring.
    Boil 5 minutes, stirring.
    Take off stove.
    Wait 5 minutes.
    Add 50 g butter + 1 egg(s).
    Mix.
  3. The quark layer
    Mix 1 pack(s) vanilla pudding powder + 50 g sugar.
    Add 250 g quark + 200 g whipping cream + 2 egg(s).
    Mix.
  4. The base and crumbles
    Mix 220 g flour + 110 g sugar + 1 tea spoon(s) baking powder + 1 pack(s) vanilla sugar + 1 pinch(es) salt + 1 egg(s) + 110 g butter to crumbles.
  5. Putting it all together
    3/4 crumble dough for base.
    2/3 of the poppy filling.
    Quark layer.
    Remaining crumbles on top.
    Spots of poppy filling.
    Bake 45 minutes.
    Leave in oven for 10 minutes.
    Take the cake out of the oven.
