The new class of Moment Tensor Potentials
In this video, I explain what Moment Tensor Potentials (MTPs) are, why they are so accurate, how they can actively learn to reproduce Density Functional Theory (DFT) energies, stresses and forces, and how to use them.
MTPs are highly interesting because they are very accurate ‐ more so than EAM potentials, but are much faster to compute than actual ab initio data. In fact, while there is always a trade-off between speed and accuracy, with MTPs, scientists can choose how to set the balance themselves.
You can download the handout for the video, which contains all the information from the video, some additional details, and the sources used to create the video.
